Very much unknown to followers of Solomon Islands music, JAYMOS is not allowing that analogy to prevent him from unleashing the talent that he possesses although this is just his second year of music recording.
Although new to the scene, his latest single "Nefa Uhna" is now turning heads.
The super flamboyant JAYMOS. |
Produced by the Honiara-based Dee Beatz, "Nefa Uhna" is probably a song that will start putting JAYMOS' name on a lot of lips as this TikTok trending hit continues to find new ears far and wide.
Rightfully, he chose to collaborate with the Solomon Islands' most refreshing songster, Elexter JR on the track.

"Nefa Uhna" is sung largely in the Maringe language plus a few lines here and there in the Solomon Islands Pidgin, a decision that somehow added a meaningful island aura to the track.

While a lot of us will probably fall for the tantalizing beat of the song, watching its translated video will help us dance meaningfully to the heart-aching lyrics.
For an artist who'd spent years idolizing big music stars from distant lands, as revealed by him when spoken to by TSR, it was hard not to recognize the quality that JAYMOS' vocals possess.
And if that superb combination can be mentioned again, it was awesome of JAYMOS to bring along Elexter JR in the song as the collab somewhat uncovered how vibrant and talented the two artists are.
We think this song has a very long way to go now that its beautifully crafted music video was dropped last week.
Shot and produced by the newly discovered Teneh Sea, the music video gave the much-needed island feel to the song which appears to be on its way to the top as far as Solomon Islands music is concerned.
Many Solomon Islands-based videographers have surfaced over the years, but Teneh Sea appears to be on to something big with his cinematography skills which we think are showing clear signs of an ambitious content creator.
Rumors had it that Teneh Sea is still in secondary school so we can only imagine the many cool projects he will create in the future.
