Unofficially dubbed by many as the king of Pacific Afro Beat, Sean Rii on Saturday last week teased his social media followers with a snippet of his latest single "Jealousy", and surprisingly caused quite a stir.
The Solomon Islander who is currently based in Papua New Guinea told his more than 150K followers on Facebook that he was going to drop "Jealousy" on Youtube if he could able to get 100K subscribers.
"Hey Friends & Fam please help me hit 100 000 Subscribers before I release this brand new song Jealousy," Sean Rii teased his followers.
The post became trendy when some commenters started demanding him to release the song earlier than proposed as it seemed near impossible to get his 70K plus subscribers to the 100K mark overnight.
"Sean Rii, please don't make the vibe of the song die out😪 that song is fire bro," one fan who appeared to be demanding a quick release commented.
Another fan went on in Tok Pisin," stop teasing us! Mipla jealousy stap ya, u think this is funny?" (stop teasing us. we are waiting with Jealousy. Do you think this is funny?"
A lot of those who commented appeared to be from Papua New Guinea which shows how loved the "Chu Chu" hitmaker is by his fans in the land of the unexpected (Papua New Guinea).
"I just wanna say I was waiting for you to release it. I didn't want to get the unofficial one. You're an afro-pop legend💗 despite not hitting the 100K subscriber mark."
Despite not hitting his target, Sean Rii finally released the song today and his loyal fans were not disappointed.
Greg Ori commented on Youtube, "I just wanna say I was waiting for you to release it. I didn't want to get the unofficial one. You're an afro-pop legend💗 despite not hitting the 100K subscriber mark."
Strategically, the "Banana Boy" (Sean Rii's nickname) is on top of his game when it comes to alerting everyone about newly baked stuff.
